The intent of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is for the County of Loudoun, Virginia(County) to obtain the services of qualified consultants to establish one (1) or morefixed fee, open-ended contracts for Roadway and Transportation Design Serviceson an âas neededâ basis for a one (1) year period with up to three (3) one (1)-yearrenewal options. The number of Contracts awarded will depend on the numberand quality of the proposals received, with a maximum of four (4).Roadway and Transportation Design Services include studies and designs of newroadways, modifications or improvements to existing roadways, roadwaywidening, addition of turn lanes, intersection improvements, roundabouts,innovative intersections, traffic signals, sidewalks and trails, curb ramp additionsor modifications, signage and striping additions or modifications, maintenance oftraffic plans, bus stop installation or improvement, bus shelter installation orimprovements, or any other improvements to enhance traffic operations, transitoperations, pedestrian and bicycle conductivity, or safety.A County Purchase Order (PO) will be issued for each task prior to the start of work.Consultants will normally be selected on a rotating basis for individual tasks withineach service group under Section 5.5; however, the County, at its sole discretion,reserves the right to select consultants out of rotation when deemed to be in the bestinterests of the County.
