The Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD) has issued a Request for Quotation (RFQ-CVRD-26-032) for the supply and delivery of water treatment chemicals to support its water, wastewater, and recreation facilities. The scope of work involves providing chemicals such as Calcium Hypochlorite and Sodium Thiosulphate on an as-needed basis. Successful suppliers are responsible for managing deliveries during weekday business hours, coordinating the pickup of empty returnable containers, and providing yearly sales reports. Additionally, contractors must maintain a 24/7 emergency information line for spills or emergencies and provide product-specific safe-handling training and technical support for CVRD staff. Compliance with safety and regulatory standards is a critical component of this solicitation. All products must adhere to WHMIS requirements, include current Safety Data Sheets, and be properly labeled. Deliveries must comply with transportation of dangerous goods legislation, utilizing vehicles equipped with appropriate hazard placards, fire extinguishers, and emergency spill kits. Proponents are required to maintain significant insurance coverage, including $5,000,000 for commercial general liability and $5,000,000 for automobile liability, with the CVRD named as an additional insured.
