Simon Fraser University (SFU) is inviting qualified firms to submit responses for a Request for Supplier Qualification (RFSQ) to establish a prequalified List of Vertical Transportation Consultants. These consultants will be considered for various projects across SFU’s Burnaby, Vancouver, and Surrey campuses, providing design and construction phase services as needed. Projects eligible for these services include capital projects, upgrades, repairs, feasibility studies, and condition assessments related to vertical transportation systems, with construction costs up to $3,000,000 and pre-design fees up to $300,000. The goal is to streamline and enhance the efficiency of awarding contracts by having a vetted pool of experts ready to be engaged on an as-needed basis. SFU intends to select at least three proponents to be included on the List for an initial period of one year, with the option to extend this period. Consultants will be required to comply with the outlined qualifications and may be asked to re-submit their qualifications if necessary during their tenure on the List. SFU maintains the discretion to modify the process, including adding or removing firms or cancelling the list entirely. Interested parties must access the official RFSQ package via the MERX platform using the provided reference or solicitation numbers to obtain the full details and submit their responses by the deadline of February 12, 2026. Contact for this opportunity is the Contracting Authority, Anthony Sullano.

Use MERX reference Number: 0000311604or Solicitation Number: P308583-FM-960521==============================================================================Simon Fraser University (“SFU”) is located on British Columbia's west coast, and boasts three distinctive campuses, Burnaby, Vancouver, and Surrey. SFU has matured into one of the world’s leading teaching and research universities with more than 26,000 students, 2,700 faculty and staff, and 200,000 alumni in 145+ countries. This Request for Supplier Qualification (RFSQ) is an invitation by Simon Fraser University (SFU) to prospective proponents (the Proponents) to submit their responses in compliance with the requirements outlined in this RFSQ. The objective of this RFSQ is to establish a List of Prequalified Vertical Transportation Consultants (the “List”) whom SFU will engage to respond to specific invitations to bid for projects, or to directly award work across SFU’s Burnaby, Surrey, and Vancouver campuses in connection with projects. The engagement of Prequalified Vertical Transportation Consultants will be on an as-needed basis for design and construction phase services for projects with estimated construction costs up to $3,000,000, or for pre-design services for projects, provided the overall pre-design fee does not exceed $300,000. SFU in its sole and unfettered discretion reserves the right to make any changes to the process of awarding works as described in this RFSQ. This includes but is not limited to cancellation of any list of Prequalified Vertical Transportation Consultants or adding or removing Proponents from a list of Prequalified Vertical Transportation Consultants. It is SFU’s intention to select at least three (3) Proponents. The selected Proponents will be included on SFU’s List of Prequalified Vertical Transportation Consultants for a period of one (1) year, with an option for SFU to extend the time that any firm remains on the List a described in Section 2.3 “Time Period”. At any time during a Proponent’s inclusion on the List, SFU may advise such Proponent that it is necessary for them to re-submit their qualifications.See full detail in the RFSQ package.
