This project entails granting a right of entry permit to Ventura County Vector Control Program for temporary access to State Park property in order to maintain regular monitoring and control activities to prevent and mitigate mosquito-borne diseases located in areas with standing water during periods of elevated mosquito activity (generally between April and October; potentially between March and November during extended periods of precipitation, flooding, and/or warm/mild weather). This work will reduce the potential for the transmission of mosquito-borne diseases, including West Nile Virus (WNV) and minimize the exposure of the public to aforementioned diseases. (as evaluated in the EIR/IS-MND prepared by Ventura County (Notice of Intent, Water Quality Order 2016-0039-DWQ, General Permit CAG990004).
No excavation work or alterations to the existing landscape are required as part of this work. All work will adhere to Departmental policies and standard best management practices to minimize impacts to sensitive resources.
