Full Description

The purpose of this project is to grind and replace the existing two-lane undivided, 40-foot-wide pavement section of Road 130 between Avenue 416 and Tactacan Avenue. All newly resurfaced roadways will receive new traffic stripes, pavement markings, and pedestrian crossings. Additional improvements include construction of curb and gutter, sidewalks, accessible curb ramps, drive approaches, and related striping/signing. Improvements to the path of travel will result in improved visibility for motorists approaching pedestrian crossings, accommodate people in disabilities, and increase safety for pedestrians using the facilities. The project will not result in an increase to the roadways vehicular capacity. Efficient and responsive improvements of the County road networks will enhance the safety and security of the public by improving the access of pedestrians throughout the region. Construction is anticipated to begin in summer of 2027 and is expected to be completed by fall of 2027. Beneficiaries of the project include vehicles and students/pedestrians utilizing this roadway corridor.
