Project Name and Description: Road 359 BAER AOP Design and Installation This project consists of survey, design and installation of a bottomless arch pipe for aquatic organism passage on a Tributary to Colt Creek. Two 24" existing culverts at MP 0.60 of Road 359 will be replaced with a bottomless arch pipe designed to Forest Service standards to accommodate aquatic organism passage. Estimated bank full width is 9'. The design shall include drawings, specifications and permit assembly. After FS approval of the design, installation of the arch pipe shall begin. The design will include hydraulic analysis and stream channel design. Construction work expected is culvert removal, construction and installation of a bottomless arch pipe, placing riprap, building grade control structures in the channel, rebuilding the road prism, hauling and placing crushed aggregate surfacing, and all other work necessary to complete the project as required by the design. Vendor Project Considerations: The Road 359 BAER AOP will consist of awarding a base contract for the construction and installation of a bottomless arch pipe with footings for aquatic organism passage on a Tributary to Colt Creek. Offeror will be responsible for the sub-contracting for survey and design services from an Architectural and Engineering firm. The designs, drawings, and all corresponding specifications will be reviewed and approved by a USDA US Forest Service Engineer. Offeror will be considered responsible for producing an acceptable concrete mix that may be submitted no later than when seventy-five percent of the design has been generated. Offeror will be responsible for placing concrete order in time to create the required footing and provide for installation no later than 30 September 2013. Specific considerations for recommended Architectural and Engineering service firms will be forthcoming in the official synopsis and solicitation.
