Roofing IFB Sources Sought

THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION FOR A ROOF PROJECT AT EIELSON AFB, AK. The USAF is seeking to identify potential contractors qualified to perform roof repair work in the Fairbanks, Alaska region. The Government is contemplating a firm-fixed price Sealed Bid contract for a roof repair project. The estimated magnitude is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. This posting is a request for information from interested vendors and is issued solely for informational and planning purposes. This posting is not a Request for Proposals. Respondees are advised that the Government will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this RFI; all costs associated with responding to this RFI will be solely at the interested party's expense. Not responding to this RFI does not preclude participation in any future RFP, if one is issued. If a solicitation is released, it will be synopsized on the FedBizOps website. It is the responsibility of the potential offerors to monitor these sites for additional information pertaining to this requirement. The work shall include but is not limited to: Repair by replacement (warranty included) of existing roof consisting of Insulated Roof Membrane Assemblies (IRMA), Exposed Membrane Roof (EPDM), standing seam metal roof systems including insulation, underlayment's, decking, flashings, and drain covers. Install new Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer (EPDM) system insulated to R38 in accordance with manufacturer's specifications in areas previously covered by IRMA and EPDM roofing systems an area of 27,636 square feet and standing seam metal roof in areas previously covered by standing seam metal. The facility shall be occupied during construction by the 18th Aggressors Squadron, Eielson Air Force Base Alaska, under the jurisdiction of the 354th Fighter Wing. The roof system shall be installed in accordance with manufacturers' specifications and good construction practices. Contractor shall furnish all plans and labor, all materials, supplies and equipment, to include facilities necessary to perform work requirement, transportation to and from job site, inspect, restore, repair or replace roofs. Remove 27,636 square feet of roof pavers and insulation, install vapor barrier, FFP-8 mil polyethylene vapor barrier, install 5/8 Gypsheeting Thermal Barrier and tapered R38 insulation for EPDM, crickets or saddles 13,362 square feet. 27,636 square feet, install and flash 20 each roof drain extensions and overflow scuppers, install parapet wall covering and drain covers, remove and replace flashings as required. The roofs may be comprised of shingles, Insulated Roof Membrane Assemblies (IRMA), Exposed Membrane roofs (EPDM), corrugated metal, built-up-roof, and standing-seam metal.
