Ellsworth AFB, SD is searching for companies interested and capable of providing Runway Ice Detection services for the Ellsworth AFB runway. The Runway Ice Detection System on base currently hosts an array of sensors both above ground and sub-surface that monitor temperature, and chemical level applied to the runway. Based on the data from Sensors treatment recommendations are recommended in order to ensure runway safety. In addition to this service, weather forecasting is included.
