Rustic Lane Elementary School Modernization Project

The Jurupa Unified School District plans to modernize Rustic Lane Elementary School through a comprehensive renovation and expansion project set to begin in summer 2026 and conclude in July 2028. The project includes upgrading existing buildings B through H, converting the current portable library and innovation center into additional classrooms, and constructing new facilities such as a classroom building, an administration and library/innovation center, and a dedicated Transitional Kindergarten/Kindergarten building. Site improvements will expand the parking lot, add a solar canopy, create new play areas including a 29,000-square-foot playfield, install new fencing and landscaping, and enhance overall campus circulation. The number of classrooms will increase by four to better serve student needs. To accommodate students during construction, twenty portable classrooms will be installed at Pacific Avenue Academy of Music, with eighteen removed once construction is complete. Additional enhancements at Pacific Avenue Academy of Music will include expanding the dismissal area, replacing the public address system, resealing and restriping the playground, and paving the southern parking lot. The District has secured an agreement with the Free Church of Tonga for overflow parking during construction and will provide bus transportation for Rustic Lane Elementary students residing more than two miles from the temporary relocation site. The project will benefit students, school staff, and the surrounding community by offering modern, safe, and functional learning environments with updated infrastructure and amenities. All work will be carried out in Jurupa Valley, California, with Robin Griffin, Director of Planning and Development, serving as the primary point of contact.
