Full Description

The Department of Veteran Affairs, North Florida/South Georgia Healthcare System, VISN 8, intends to issue a sole source award to Waste Pro of Florida, Inc. for the collection and disposal of garbage, yard waste, recyclable items, and other materials from the Lake City VA Medical Center, located at 619 South Marion Avenue, Lake City, Florida 32025. This action will be accomplished on a non-competitive, firm-fixed price basis under simplified acquisition procedures and in accordance with the City of Lake City's Resolution No. 2012-045. This Resolution gives Waste Pro the exclusive right to collect and dispose of all refuse generated by residents and commercial establishments during the 5-year term of the Franchise Agreement. A Purchase Order will be issued to Waste Pro of Florida based upon the authority at Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 13.3 and 6.302-1(a)(2). The North American Industry Classification Code for this procurement is 562111. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals and the Government does not intend to accept proposals received. Issuance of a Purchase Order will be made following the publication of this notice. This will be a firm-fixed price order for refuse collection. All inquiries and concerns shall be addressed in writing to the email address stated herein, Attn: Rachel Griner, Inquiries to this notice shall be received by October 5, 2012, 12:00pm Eastern Time to Department of Veteran Affairs, 619 South Marion Avenue, Lake City, Florida 32025. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
