The Department of Veterans Affairs Great Lakes Acquisition Center (GLAC) plans to enter into a sole source, firm fixed price contract with Professional Landscape Management, a division of Dependable Lawn Care, Inc. located in Blue Island, Illinois, to provide landscaping services at the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center in Chicago. This contract will last for one year and is being awarded under the authority of FAR 6.302-2 due to unusual and compelling urgency, as the previous long-term contract cannot continue because of unforeseen circumstances. The one-year bridge contract will provide the government time to research the market and identify service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses that could potentially fulfill these landscaping requirements through future competitions. Although this notice signals the intent to negotiate solely with Professional Landscape Management, it is not a solicitation for competitive proposals. However, firms interested in meeting the requirements may submit detailed information about their capabilities and customer references related to maintaining Siemens water purification systems. Such submissions must be received by the contracting officer no later than 10:00 AM CST on March 1, 2018. The contract falls under NAICS code 561730, and the decision to compete or proceed with sole source procurement remains at the discretion of the government, depending on the responses received. If there are no responses, GLAC will move forward with negotiating the sole source contract with Professional Landscape Management.
