The Department of Veterans Affairs, VISN 02, New York Harbor Healthcare System, has issued a justification for a single-source award to Set The Standard, LLC, a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business. This one-time procurement is for the urgent environmental cleanup and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste resulting from flood damage caused by Hurricane Aida. The scope of work covers the Brooklyn Campus, specifically the Pharmacy Service emergency cache, elevator hydraulic room, and radiation oncology, as well as the St. Albans Campus laundry facility. These services are critical to ensuring regulatory compliance and allowing necessary facility repairs to proceed. The contract is awarded under FAR 13.106-1 for an amount not to exceed $79,440.00. Set The Standard, LLC was selected as the sole source because they are the incumbent provider for regulated waste streams at these facilities and have already developed the legally required Environmental Protection Agency hazardous waste profiles unique to the site. The contracting officer determined the price to be fair and reasonable based on a comparison with other FY 2021 contracts awarded to the vendor for similar hazardous waste services. The action is categorized under NAICS code 562112 and was certified on October 27, 2021.
