The Town of Natick is conducting an open market online auction for the disposal of a surplus 2012 Snowdragon SND900 snow melting machine. The auction is hosted through Public Surplus and is scheduled to run from September 15, 2026, until 3:00 P.M. on October 20, 2026. The vehicle, which features a Mitsubishi engine, a 550-gallon fuel tank, and a Riello Model RL1901M burner, is being sold on an as-is, where-is basis. The seller expressly disclaims all warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. The machine was reported to be functional through the previous year's snow operations, and the main engine is noted to start and run. The award will be granted to the highest responsive bidder, although the Town reserves the right to reject all bids and pursue a negotiated sale if a higher price can be obtained. To be considered a successful bidder, the winner must complete several post-auction requirements, including submitting a signed non-collusion form and providing certification of compliance with Massachusetts General Laws regarding taxes, employee reporting, and child support withholding. Full payment must be made electronically via Public Surplus prior to the removal of the equipment.
