San Jacinto High School Athletic Fields Lighting Project

The San Jacinto Unified School District is implementing the San Jacinto High School Athletic Fields Lighting Project at the campus located at 500 Idyllwild Drive in San Jacinto, California. The project scope involves the installation of 32 new Musco competition lighting poles and 186 new lighting fixtures to illuminate the practice field, baseball fields, softball fields, and tennis courts. Additionally, the project includes retrofitting six existing lighting poles on the track and football field with 56 new technology Musco lighting fixtures. All installations must comply with the City of San Jacinto's development standards for outdoor lighting, specifically Chapter 17.300.080, to prevent excessive glare and light spill. The project is managed by Facilities Project Manager Mary Elder and is scheduled for a single-phase construction period starting in fall 2025 and ending in winter 2025. Environmental reviews conducted under CEQA, including an Initial Study and Mitigated Negative Declaration, concluded that the project will not have significant environmental effects, provided that mitigation measures for cultural and geological resources are followed. The project has received a Notice of Determination and is subject to city noise standards and public health regulations regarding air contaminants and construction nuisances. Technical specifications and lighting plans are provided by Musco Lighting to ensure performance and warranty standards are met.
