San Jose Data Center

The San Jose Data Center project involves the construction and operation of a 396,914 gross square foot data center facility with a maximum electrical load of 99 MW. The project is situated on a 64.5-acre undeveloped site located at 1657 Alviso-Milpitas Road in San Jose, California. This development is managed by the California Energy Commission and the Santa Clara Valley Water District, with the project adhering to the California Environmental Quality Act and a certified Final Environmental Impact Report. The scope of work includes significant supporting infrastructure improvements to the west of the data center site. Key deliverables consist of extending McCarthy Lane by approximately 1,150 feet for primary access, widening Zanker Road to include new multimodal facilities such as bike lanes and sidewalks, and installing comprehensive utility connections for potable water, fire water, recycled water, sanitary sewer, and storm drains. Additionally, the project requires the construction of a new parking lot and the relocation of the Santa Clara Valley Water Purification Visitor Center. The project received final authorization via a Notice of Determination signed on July 15, 2026.
