Santa Clarita Valley Water Agency's 2025 Urban Water Management Plan (UWMP) and Water Shortage Contingency Plan (WSCP)

The Santa Clarita Valley Water Agency has adopted the 2025 Urban Water Management Plan (UWMP) and the 2025 Water Shortage Contingency Plan (WSCP) to manage water resources across its service area in Los Angeles and Ventura Counties. The UWMP is a regulatory requirement under the California Water Code, mandated every five years to ensure long-term water availability. It assesses water source reliability over a 20-year timeframe, details demand management measures, discusses the use of recycled water, and tracks progress toward a 20 percent reduction in per-capita urban water consumption. Complementing this, the WSCP establishes formal procedures for identifying and managing water shortages, including the definition of shortage levels, communication protocols, and specific demand-reduction actions.
