The City of Gilroy, as the CEQA Lead Agency, proposes the Santa Teresa Boulevard/Day Road Intersection Improvement Project (project). The project is located at the intersection of Santa Teresa Boulevard and Day Road in the City of Gilroy. The project would improve safety for pedestrians and cyclists crossing Santa Teresa Boulevard by adding sidewalks, curb and gutter, curb ramps, striped crosswalks, and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) elements. Pedestrian improvements would meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements. The project would cold plane existing Asphalt Concrete (AC) pavement and overlay it with Hot Mix Asphalt Type A. In addition, existing Metal Beam Guard Railing would be replaced with Caltrans standard Midwest Guardrail System and end treatments.
