Savanna High School Track & Field Project

The Anaheim Union High School District is initiating the Savanna High School Track and Field Project located at 301 N. Gilbert St., Anaheim, California. This forecast project focuses on comprehensive athletic and recreational improvements to enhance safety and exterior learning opportunities. The scope of work includes replacing the existing natural turf football and soccer field with synthetic turf and replacing the decomposed granite track with a new synthetic, all-weather track. Additional infrastructure upgrades involve the installation of 2,490 bleacher seats, a press box, modular restrooms, field lighting, a scoreboard, and the extension of the campus PA system. The project also includes the implementation of a bioswale stormwater management system and path of travel improvements featuring concrete paving and fencing. Construction activities are expected to span a 12-month period, approximately from the fourth quarter of 2026 through the fourth quarter of 2027. The project is classified under NAICS code 236220 and has been deemed exempt from further environmental review under CEQA Guidelines 15301, 15302, 15311(a), and 15314, as the improvements are minor additions within existing school grounds that do not increase student capacity. Administrative oversight is led by Patricia Neely, Executive Director of Facilities, Maintenance, and Operations, with Nancy C. Nien serving as the authorized signatory.
