The Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada is seeking a contractor to provide scientific support for Arctic char research in Cambridge Bay. The primary objective is to develop a data collection framework and stock assessment model to estimate biomass and biological reference points for five specific stocks. This initiative involves synthesizing existing data to evaluate stock status, identify effective management strategies, and quantify the value of various data collection protocols while addressing uncertainties regarding multi-stock dynamics. As part of the deliverables, the contractor will establish a central resource, such as a repository or splash page, to facilitate future research on commercially and exploratively harvested Arctic char. Additionally, the contractor will serve as an external expert and co-author for a Research Document to support the Canadian Science Advisory Secretariat stock assessment scheduled for 2028. This federal solicitation, numbered 30007324, is open to performance within Canada, the United States, and Mexico.
