The Sebewaing Flood Control Project, managed by the Department of Defense under solicitation W911XK-10-B-0002, involves comprehensive embankment reinforcement on the north side of the Sebewaing River in Michigan. The scope of work covers approximately 92,000 square feet and begins with clearing, grubbing, and tree removal. The technical execution requires grading the embankment to a 2H:1V slope, utilizing a layered foundation of gravel fill from the channel bottom topped with an impenetrable clay layer and a small clay levee for flood protection. To ensure long-term stability, the project specifies the installation of geotextile fabric and aggregate over the fill. The final protective layer consists of Armorflex articulating concrete block mats or an equivalent system, which will be keyed in at the toe and below the levee. The process concludes with filling the concrete block voids with soil and applying hydroseeding for vegetation. This award notice was issued by the W072 Endist Detroit office.
