Security Equipment for Eradication Operations

The contract seeks to equip 45 protective and explosive detection canine units with comprehensive training and tactical resources to support eradication operations, primarily centered in Bogotá. Investment includes the provision of scent training kits using specialized powdered substances to teach dogs to identify explosives, along with essential protective gear such as harnesses, eye and ear protection for the dogs, and veterinary supplies and services to ensure their operational readiness. The scope also encompasses the enhancement of infrastructure at four bases, specifically the construction and improvement of kennels and related facilities, contingent on the Colombian National Police providing the necessary labor for these upgrades. The contract may additionally involve the acquisition of up to 30 untrained Colombian dogs to be integrated into the program and conditioned for detection duties, expanding the capacity of the canine units in the field.
