All information submitted in response to this announcement is voluntary, and the Government will not pay for information requested nor will it compensate any respondent for any cost incurred in developing information provided to the Government. The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) is conducting market research for sources who are an authorized dealer, authorized distributor, or authorized reseller of an - X-ray Machine for Analysis of Seeds brand name or equal to Parameter 2D Cabinet X-Ray System and integrated software for counting, categorizing, and measuring seeds, for the Woody Landscape Plant Germplasm Repository. The X-ray machine must include integrated software that combines X-ray and optical imagery in a single view, and provides analysis of seeds including counting, measuring, and categorizing seed viability based on embryo development. The x-ray machine for analysis of seeds must have the following capabilities: - minimum resolution = 50 um - minimum detector size 12 x 12 cm - fully shielded cabinet - integrated high-resolution optical camera - software capable of combining x-ray and optical images in a single view - software developed for seed analysis, including automatic counting, categorizing, and measuring, using dedicated endosperm segmentation and density profile technology As part of its market research, USDA ARS is issuing this Sources Sought to determine if there exist an adequate number of qualified interested contractors capable of providing the requirement. The Government may use the responses to this Sources Sought for information and planning purposes. This Sources Sought is only for the purpose of identifying potential sources as part of USDA ARS market research. No Request For Quote (RFQ) exists; therefore, do not request a copy of the RFQ. Responses to this Sources Sought are not quotes on which USDA ARS can issue any contract. This Sources Sought is issued for information and planning purposes only and does not itself constitute a RFQ.
