The USDA, Agricultural Research Service (ARS), Eastern Regional Research Center (ERRC), Office of Center Director (OCD), intends to negotiate solely with FEI, in Hillsboro, OR, to enter into a service contract with FEI to service a Quanta 200 FEG SN# D7739, D7739.1, D7739.2, D7739.3 (This instrument is used to look at the surfaces of samples) and a CM12STEM SN#D818 (This instrument is used to study the surfaces of samples at high magnification). This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR subpart 12.6 (current as of FAC 2005-64), as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The NAICS is 334411. The Solicitation number is 800-00013/0014-13 and is issued as a Request For Quotation (RFQ). Companies with the demonstrated capability of providing this equipment must submit a descriptive statement, including descriptive literature, specifically addressing the equipment=s component=s and availability. In the event multiple quotes are received, the quotes will be evaluated on the basis of lowest price, technically acceptable. In order to be considered technically acceptable, the item must meet specifications and compatibility requirements. The statement and literature must be submitted to the Contracting Office Address NLT 01/31/2013. This is not a request for proposal. NO SOLICITATION IS AVAILABLE.
