This contract focuses on improving and sustaining the DIRECT program through a phased approach involving requirements assessment, integration, and installation. The initial contract, referred to as the Basic Contract, targets upgrading high priority items, while two subsequent options will address medium and low priority upgrades respectively. Each phase within the Basic Contract and Options is interdependent, ensuring a structured progression of work. The overall performance period spans 4.5 years, beginning with an 18-month base period from June 1, 2014, to December 1, 2015, followed by two 18-month option periods extending through December 1, 2018, providing continuity if all options are exercised. The Government intends to award this contract as a sole-source procurement to General Dynamics C4 Systems, Inc., under FAR 6.302-1 authority, citing that only this source can meet the agency’s requirements. The solicitation was anticipated to be released in January 2014 with an expected award date in May 2014. Foreign participation is prohibited, and while the Government welcomes interested parties to express their interest and submit proposals within 45 days of the synopsis publication, any decision not to compete rests solely with the Government. The contract involves technical refresh and service life extension activities for the DIRECT program, and points of contact include designated contracting and contract management officials at the Air Force.

Fire Alarm engineering for Lewis County
Solicitation # 2026-RFQ-040
Lewis County is soliciting qualifications under solicitation 2026-RFQ-040 for a professional engineering firm to provide comprehensive design and engineering services for fire alarm systems. The project encompasses several County-owned facilities, including the IT Building, Historic Courthouse, Health Building, and Lewis County Jail. The selected firm will be responsible for conducting on-site evaluations to determine the remaining useful life of existing systems, assessing code compliance with NFPA 72, IBC, and IFC standards, and developing bid-ready construction drawings and technical specifications. All designs must be stamped by a licensed electrical engineer familiar with Washington State fire alarm requirements and must integrate smoothly with existing infrastructure to ensure standardized maintenance and operations. Proposals are due by November 10, 2026, via the OpenGov platform and will be evaluated by a committee of at least three County employees using a points-based system. The evaluation criteria are equally weighted at 20 percent each across four categories: firm qualifications (including NICET certifications and licensed engineer availability), responsiveness and capacity to begin work within 30 days, regulatory compliance and permitting records, and the clarity and detail of blueprint designs. Applicants must provide a statement of qualifications, three public agency references from the last five years, and resumes of key personnel. The contract is administered by Matt Patana, Capital Infrastructure Specialist, based in Chehalis, Washington.
