Pursuant to FAR Subpart 13.106-1(b)(1), the Federal Bureau of Prisons FCI McDowell, Welch WV, intends to issue a sole source award to JWC Environmental in the amount of $21,117.00 to purchase a sewage grinder drum for the FCI McDowell facilities department, Welch WV. This product must be purchase from JWC Environmental because it is a component to a larger machine. This particular brand and model is the only component that will fit the larger machine. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302-1. The purchase of the JWC Environmental component is one part to larger machine and is part of a exchange program where we trade in our broken component for a remanufactured component. To use sewage grinder from a different manufacturer would require significant modification to the institution sewage lift station as well as the extractor. This would result in extensive cost as well as an interruption of sewage services to the institution. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. This notice is not a request for proposal and a solicitation will not be issued in conjunction with the notice of intent. Any vendor that believes it can provide the stated supplies/equipment can provide supporting documents demonstrating their products capability and specifications. Responses received will be used for future acquisitions. Information can be sent to the Contract Specialist; Johnny Stiltner at jstiltner@bop.gov. No telephone or facsimile requests will be accepted. This procurement will be prepared in accordance with FAR Part 13, using Simplified Acquisition Procedures.
