Shingle Springs Rancheria Gaming Pavilion Project Tribal EIR

The Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians is developing a 6,200-square-foot gaming pavilion addition to the Red Hawk Resort and Casino in El Dorado County, California. This project involves relocating slot machines and table games from underutilized areas of the existing gaming floor to the new pavilion. To comply with the Tribal-State Compact, the Tribe has completed a Certified Final Tribal Environmental Impact Report (TEIR) to assess off-reservation impacts, including air quality, noise, transportation, and aesthetics. Mitigation measures include a dust and emissions control plan that meets El Dorado County Air Quality Management District standards. The project is subject to rigorous safety and regulatory standards, requiring compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act and the California Public Safety Code. Inspections will be conducted by qualified project inspectors and authorized state or federal agencies to ensure adherence to building, water quality, and occupational health and safety standards. Additionally, the project adheres to California Environmental Quality Act requirements regarding tribal cultural resources, ensuring that confidential information provided by native tribes remains protected. The Tribal Council has officially certified the Final TEIR, authorizing the implementation of the expansion.
