The contract pertains to the provision of security services for the Space Innovation Development Center (SIDC) located at Schriever Air Force Base, Colorado. Currently managed under a Firm Fixed Price (FFP) arrangement, these services are supplied by Alutiiq 3SG, LLC, an 8(a) certified Alaska Native Corporation. The contract's performance period began on September 24, 2012, with a base term extending through July 23, 2013, including options for two additional one-month extensions. The primary purpose of these extensions is to maintain continuous security support during an organizational restructuring and the development of the subsequent acquisition strategy, ensuring no interruption in critical services to the 50th Space Wing and its broader government user community. This contract is administered by the 50th Contracting Squadron under the Department of Defense and falls under NAICS code 561612, which covers security services. The government has issued several notices indicating intentions to extend the contract but clarified that these are not solicitations for proposals or competitive quotations at this time. Interested parties were invited to demonstrate competitive capability by a specified deadline, though any such submissions must convincingly illustrate that competition would benefit the government. The contract’s continuation is essential to support ongoing national defense operations, preventing service gaps that could impact critical mission readiness and warfighter support.
