Silica Microsand bid shall have the following characteristics: The Silica Microsand shall consist of hard, durable, and dense grains or predominately siliceous material that will resist degradation during handling and use. The Silica Microsand shall have a specific gravity of greater than 2.5 and an acid solubility of less than 5%. The Silica Microsand shall be visibly free of clay, dust, micaceous matter and organic matter. The effective size of the Silica Microsand shall be in the range of .130mm to 0.150mm. The uniformity coefficient of the Silica Microsand shall be equal to or less than 1.75. The Silica Microsand bid shall not introduce any extraneous materials which would cause a violation of any Federal and State SDWA regulations.
