Project Background: The City has identified deficiencies in the existing potable water distribution system within the Silver Ridge community, including undersized and aging 2-inch galvanized water mains. The City intends to: Replace existing deteriorated infrastructure Improve fire protection capabilities Enhance system reliability through looped water distribution Engineering design services were prepared by Kimley-Horn in accordance with the City's continuing professional engineering services agreement. The City's water distribution system on Lee Drive and Denson Drive pipe materials have reached the end of their useful life. This project focuses on 1) replacing 2-inch galvanized iron potable water lines, and 2) branch a new water main from the existing 6-inch asbestos cement water main on Silver Circle and extend a 6-inch HDPE water main west to Glenwood Drive to tie into the existing 6-inch PVC water main on Glenwood Drive to provide a loop to the Silver Ridge potable water system 3) replacement and relocation of one (1) fire hydrant as needed. This is a residential area with no commercial properties. City Background: The City serves an area of 25 square miles with a population of approximately 24,981. The City's fiscal year begins on October 1st and ends on September 30th. The Finance Department maintains the funds and accounts of the City. The Finance Department is responsible for the custody and accounting of funds of each department. More detailed information on the government and its finances can be found in City of Edgewater's Annual Comprehensive Financial Report and in the City's Annual Budget. Copies of these documents may be viewed on the City Website: www.cityofedgewater.org . The City of Edgewater is exempt from any and all state, local, and federal taxes.
