Single-mode 532 nm laser for Brillouin Light Scattering Spectrometer (High Speed Metrology for Magnetoelectronic Devices and Models)

The contract seeks a single-mode, 250 mW, 532 nm diode-pumped solid-state (DPSS) Torus laser system to replace an end-of-life unit in a Brillouin Light Scattering spectrometer at NIST, with full interchangeability required with the existing Novanta Torus model. The laser must meet stringent technical specifications including beam diameter of 1.5–1.9 mm, divergence less than 0.5 mrad, power stability under 0.2% rms, RMS noise no higher than 1.2%, polarization ratio exceeding 100:1, and physical dimensions that fit within a 5.6-inch width platform, height not exceeding 41 mm, and length under 14.5 inches. The system must include a US 110 V / 60 Hz power supply, be delivered new with original packaging and documentation, and come with a minimum two-year or 17,500-hour warranty. Delivery is required F.O.B. Destination to NIST’s facility in Boulder, CO, no later than twelve weeks after order issuance, with acceptance performed at that location by NIST personnel following performance testing using a calibrated power meter and Tandem-Fabry-Perot spectrometer to verify spectral purity with at least 95 dB higher-order mode suppression. The procurement follows a Lowest Price, Technically Acceptable (LPTA) evaluation framework, where technical acceptability is a mandatory gatekeeping criterion—any offer failing to meet minimum requirements is disqualified regardless of price, and among technically acceptable offers, the lowest price determines award.
