Site Acquisition for Arbor Ranch Elementary School

The Elk Grove Unified School District is pursuing the acquisition and development of a 10-acre property located at the corner of Spoonwood Avenue and Terra Franca Way in Elk Grove, California. This project, identified as the Arbor Ranch Elementary School, is situated within the Laguna Ridge Specific Plan area and is designed to address growing educational demands in the community. The project involves the initial site acquisition followed by a formal planning process to determine the specific design and operational features of the facility. The new school is scheduled to open in July 2027 and is planned to accommodate approximately 850 students under a traditional schedule, with a maximum capacity of 1,200 students if a year-round schedule is implemented. The project is exempt from CEQA review under guidelines 15061(b)(3), 15183, and PRC 21083.3, as it aligns with the City of Elk Grove General Plan, Zoning Code, and the Laguna Ridge Specific Plan. All development will adhere to applicable mitigation measures from the LRSP Revised EIR to ensure environmental compliance.
