The U.S. Department of Commerce’s National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is conducting market research through a Sources Sought notice for the SITE Domestic Water Valve Replacements Phase 2 project at its Boulder, Colorado campus. This effort involves the removal and replacement of approximately 350 linear feet of 6-inch cast iron domestic water piping with PVC piping, including replacing one fire hydrant valve, one water main valve, and one branch valve. The work will take place from the Daycare center lawn near Building 26 to the front of Building 3’s main entrance sidewalk. This announcement is a preliminary step to gauge interest and capabilities of contractors, particularly in relation to the specified NAICS code 237110, covering water and sewer line-related construction, but is not a solicitation for bids or proposals. Interested contractors are invited to submit capability statements no longer than twenty pages, detailing their company profile, relevant experience in the last five years, equipment, and approach to the work, including the extent of self-performance versus subcontracting. Responses will support the government’s acquisition planning and help determine if any small business set-aside opportunities exist. Additionally, the notice solicits comments on the draft statement of work to refine the project scope before solicitation issuance. There is no commitment by the government to award a contract, nor will respondents be compensated for submitted information. Submissions must be sent electronically by the specified deadline, with full contact details and compliance with SAM registration requirements.
