AI Contract Overview
The Department of Defense, through the Fire and Emergency Services Division of the Directorate of Emergency Services at US Army Garrison Redstone Arsenal, has issued a sources-sought notice for the procurement of a six-wheel drive (6x6) utility task vehicle (UTV) along with a comprehensive upfit package designed to support wildland fire response capabilities. This specialized UTV must handle diverse terrain conditions encountered within Test Area 1 and the Wheeler National Wildlife Refuge, including both dry and soggy ground. Key vehicle features include a high-payload bed capable of transporting heavy and bulky firefighting equipment such as 50-foot fire hoses, rakes, flappers, chainsaws, water tanks, and drip torches. Safety considerations incorporate the inclusion of a roll cage (ROPS), and operational capabilities are enhanced by equipment such as an extreme-duty 4,500-lb winch, beadlock rims with specialized tires, LED emergency lighting, a siren and PA system, reinforced electric bed tilt, enhanced cooling systems, and a 100+ gallon aluminum water tank with a retractable hose system. Additional design elements encompass full skid protection, half doors, windshield, mirrors, backup and cargo cameras, a sport roof, and a street-legal package to ensure immediate deployment readiness. The solicitation, identified by number PANRSA26P033287 and posted on May 12, 2026, calls for responses by May 26, 2026, but does not provide detailed contract clauses, evaluation factors, pricing data, or specific delivery timelines beyond the place of performance and delivery being Redstone Arsenal, Alabama. No packaging, preservation, marking, or MIL-STD requirements are specified, nor are any special contract provisions concerning security clearances, key personnel, options, or organizational conflicts of interest outlined in the notice. Administrative and contract administration details are limited, with payment offices identified but lacking invoicing instructions or contracting officer contacts. This sources-sought notice functions as a pre-solicitation information gathering phase focused on defining technical requirements and assessing industry interest, with formal evaluation, award criteria, and contract terms to be detailed in a subsequent formal solicitation or contract award.
