SLCo SLP132462 Mountain America Expo Center Water Softener - RFB

Salt Lake County, on behalf of the Mountain America Exposition Center, is soliciting bids for the removal and replacement of the large water softener that supplies all domestic water to the facility, under solicitation number SLP132462. The scope of work includes the complete demolition and disposal of the existing softener tanks, piping, and valves, along with the shutdown and draining of the building’s water supply riser, demolition of overhead piping, installation of a new water softener supply manifold and drain line, and the setup of a new brine tank with a salt-filling sock. The project requires the use of pre-fabricated piping to limit building water shutdown to a single day, installation of three GFCI-protected electrical outlets per control valve in coordination with an electrical subcontractor, and full startup and activation of the new system along with onsite training and an operation manual. The new water softener equipment must be brand new, featuring a four-inch manifold with two-inch branch lines to each of three tanks, each equipped with isolation valves and unions for service, and all piping must adhere to the WCC installation diagram for the Triplex system. The contract includes a freight and service agreement, and all work must be performed at the Mountain America Expo Center located at 9575 State St, Sandy, UT 84070. Bidders must demonstrate at least five years of relevant experience and provide written references from three current customers using similar equipment or services; failure to meet these criteria renders a bid non-responsive.
