The Department of Homeland Security's Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization is organizing a Vendor Outreach Session on March 16, 2017, from 9:00 am to 12:15 pm in Washington, DC, specifically at the Homeland Security Acquisition Institute on 90 K Street NE. This event is designed exclusively for Woman-Owned Small Businesses in recognition of Women’s History Month and offers 15-minute pre-scheduled appointments with Small Business Specialists from various DHS procurement components, as well as Prime Contractor Small Business Liaisons. The sessions provide a valuable platform for small businesses to showcase their capabilities and learn about upcoming procurement opportunities. Participation is free, but vendors must register in advance, with sign-up opening at noon eastern time on March 9, 2017, and sessions filling quickly. Attendees should be aware of security protocols, including presenting government-issued photo ID for building access, and that visitor names must be submitted 48 hours before the event, limiting last-minute substitutions. Directions from the nearby Union Station Metro, parking information, and nearby hotel options are provided to assist participants. In case of federal government closures or delays due to weather, the session will be canceled, with updates available on the Office of Personnel Management website.
