This Request for Information (RFI) aims to gather data on state-of-the-art technologies, components, and systems relevant to small spacecraft used for Earth and interplanetary missions. Interested parties are encouraged to submit capability statements along with detailed technical responses demonstrating technologies at a Technology Readiness Level of 5 or higher. The scope includes areas such as spacecraft structures, propulsion, communications, power systems, thermal control, guidance, navigation, control, mission operations, and deployment systems. The solicitation encourages participation from a wide array of entities including small and disadvantaged businesses, educational institutions, minority-serving institutions, and not-for-profits to foster competition and inform potential future contract scope and small business subcontracting goals. Respondents are requested to provide organizational information and detailed descriptions of applicable technologies, including development history, performance metrics, and evidence supporting readiness levels. Submitted information will be compiled into a publicly accessible database named SmallSat Parts On-Orbit Now (SPOON), managed by the Space Dynamics Laboratory. This database will serve as a resource for mission designers and researchers to identify current small satellite components available for integration. The RFI does not constitute a contract or solicitation and does not entail any obligation for NASA to procure the technologies described. Responses must be non-proprietary and may be published broadly to support information sharing within the small satellite community. Questions and feedback can be directed to the NASA contact provided, and all submissions should be uploaded via the specified SPOON website.
