Full Description
This is NOT a Solicitation. This is instead a SOLE SOURCE Special Notice, in accordance with RFO FAR 5.101 and RFO FAR 5.201, announcing the intention of the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) to award, to Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) to provide smart benefits/transit benefits to customers in the Washington capitol region, a new SOLE SOURCE contract for the project described below. This notice combines the Pre-solicitation Notice required by RFO FAR 5.101 and the Solicitation Notice required by RFO FAR 5.201, as no solicitation will be issued because the contract vehicle will be issued to the local transit authority (WMATA) authorized to provide fare media in identified areas via Economy Act Agreements and the authority of the Administrative Working Capital Fund (49 U.S.C. 327).

The Office of Transportation Services (TRANServe) within the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Administration, U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) purchases Fare Media and this contract will be issued for the purchase of transit fare media for federal employees located in Washington DC area. The appropriate procurement vehicle will be issued to the local transit authority authorized to provide fare media in the identified areas. Services include purchasing and distributing transit fare media via Economy Act agreements and the authority of the Administrative Working Capital Fund (49 U.S.C. 327); providing timely and efficient transit benefit service to over 200,000 customers.

This SOLE-SOURCE Special Notice is being publicized, in Sam.gov as is required by RFO FAR 5.101 and RFO FAR 5.201. If a result of this publishing of this Sole Source Special Notice, any responder (OTHER THAN Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority) is interested and believe they can meet the requirement may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, which shall be considered by the agency.
