Amendment One to RFQ IHS1167099 clarifies the technical requirements for the procurement of smoke alarms. The updated specifications mandate that the smoke alarms must be dual sensor photoelectric/ionization models equipped with a 10-year lithium battery. If the battery is not prepackaged with the alarm, it must be quoted as a separate line item. All provided equipment must comply with UL2034, UL217, NFPA72, NFPA 101, Federal Housing Authority, and HUD standards. The responsibility lies with the quoter to ensure that the proposed part numbers meet these specific requirements, with the Kidde Model PI9000 cited as an example of a compatible unit. As a result of these clarifications, the closing date for responses was extended to April 24, 2012, at 4:00 p.m. CST. This procurement is distinct from a previous 2011 award for First Alert detectors.
