The contract involves a modification to an existing Delivery Order awarded to Presidio Networked Solutions, Inc. under a Blanket Purchase Agreement for the procurement of IBM software licenses and maintenance. This modification adds an additional 47 million service units (MSU) along with upgraded license capacity and maintenance through September 30, 2010. The upgrades are necessary to support new workloads on the IRS mainframe, particularly due to increased processing demands stemming from changes enacted by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA). These workload increases include handling new Business Master File (BMF) tax forms and managing higher volumes of customer inquiries across IRS tax application systems. The contract modification is executed as a firm-fixed price amendment to a previously competed BPA awarded to Presidio, a small business. It ensures that the IRS has the required software capacity and maintenance support to meet critical tax application demands resulting from ARRA-driven workload enhancements. The place of performance is in Lanham, Maryland, and the contracting officer overseeing this action is Alenda C. Claude. This acquisition aligns with federal transparency and accountability requirements under ARRA and supports the IRS mission by providing the necessary infrastructure to process increased tax-related workloads efficiently.

RECOVERY - THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY. THIS OPPORTUNITY IS AVAILABLE ONLY TO PRESIDIO NETWORKED SOLUTIONS, INC. FOR THE RESEASONS DESCRIBED BELOW. In compliance with the transparency and accountability requirements associated with the supplemental appropriations provided by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA), Pub.L. 111-5, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) posts this notice of intent to issue a modification to Delivery Order 0731 issued against Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) TIRNO-99-Z-00002. This order was awarded to Presidio Networked Solutions, Inc., for the consolidated purchase of various International Business Machine (IBM) software licenses and maintenance. The purpose of this modification is to provide an additional 47 millions of service units (MSU), upgraded license capacity and maintenance through September 30, 2010, to IBM software the IRS already owns. In meeting the spirit of ARRA, this modification will be executed as a firm-fixed price action to a previously competed BPA awarded to Presidio Networked Solutions, Inc., a small business. These upgrades are needed to support new workloads in the IRS mainframe environment. Mission critical tax applications will be affected by the changes implemented by the ARRA such that increased workload volumes and changes will require additional processing resources. The increased workloads include processing new Business Master File (BMF) tax forms and handling increased volumes of queries to support customer interactions with the IRS for other tax application systems. This acquisition will provide the software licenses and maintenance for the additional processor capacity required to process the new workloads.
