The Naval Air Systems Command, Aircraft Division (NAWC-AD) intends to award a cost-reimbursable extension of contract N00421-14-C-0021 to Engility Corporation. This bridge contract provides critical software systems engineering and systems integration services for the software engineering and acquisition management division in Patuxent River, Maryland. The primary objective of this extension is to ensure the continuity of essential services, including software program generation, hardware and software integration, and the development of test devices such as weapon system simulators and trainers, while a competitive follow-on contract to the Seaport Task order is being finalized. The scope of work encompasses a broad range of operational systems requirements, functional systems testing, and fleet introduction. The estimated period of performance runs through January 14, 2016, with two additional two-month options. This action is being pursued as a sole-source award under the statutory authority of Title 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), as the government has determined that Engility Corporation is the only source capable of providing the necessary continuity to avoid detrimental effects on fleet products and services.
