Full Description

Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, the U.S. Army Natick Contracting Division, Kansas Street, Natick, MA on behalf of the United States Army-Soldier Systems Center, Natick, MA intends to negotiate and award a purchase order on a sole source basis wit h Research Triangle Institute (RTI) of Research Triangle Park, NC 27709. This order will be for the Chemical/Biological (CB) aerosol testing on prototype garments.The aerosol test requires a facility that has the capability to test to the standardized Test Operating Procedure (TOP), titled System Level Aerosol Testing of Chemical Protective Clothing Ensembles (May 1996), that is required for CB clothing approval. Research Triangle Institute (RTI) has the only facility that is capable of conducting this huma n simulant testing. There is no government facility that conducts this test. This laboratory testing is standard for Chemical Biological (CB) clothing systems and imperative for emerging and uncharacterized materials and unique closure systems.
