The Regional Contracting Office - Parris Island awarded a sole source delivery order to Biospace Inc DBA Inbody for one Inbody 770S composition analyzer under solicitation M0026326FR077. This procurement is justified under FAR 8.405-6(b) because Biospace is the sole manufacturer of the device, and the Inbody 770S is currently the only bioelectrical impedance analysis tool approved by the United States Marine Corps as mandated by MARADMIN 586/24. The acquisition falls under NAICS code 339112 and is managed by the Commanding General within the Department of Defense. This award supports the second sequence of fielding BIA devices to the Fleet Marine Force and Headquarters Marine Corps units, facilitating a transition from traditional circumference methods to BIA for body composition evaluations. The broader implementation strategy includes specific fielding timelines for Q1 FY25, requirements for DPAS property reporting, and mandatory training for Force Fitness Instructors and Command Physical Training Representatives to be completed by January 1, 2025.
