AI Contract Overview

The Department of Commerce NOAA, through its Eastern Acquisition Division in Norfolk, has entered into a sole source contract with Johnson Controls Building Solutions to provide a Metasys Building Automation System for the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary. This award is necessary to upgrade the current system, which relies on the unsupported Windows 8 operating system, and to provide core component parts required to extend the enterprise BAS to additional locations. The decision to use a sole source procurement is based on the requirement for brand-specific Metasys components to ensure compatibility and integration with NOAA's existing central administration software and FICAM standards. Because non-Metasys components are incompatible and cannot be modified to meet agency needs, and since Johnson Controls is the only GSA contract holder providing these specific parts, they were selected to perform the installation and commissioning of the upgraded HVAC building automation system in Key West, Florida.

General Info

NOAA awarded Johnson Controls a sole source contract for Metasys BAS upgrades in Florida.
