The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) seeks to award a purchase order for co-sponsorship of the 2012 Hispanic Association of Colleges & Universities (HACU) 26th Annual Conference, scheduled for October 20-22, 2012 in Washington, DC. This procurement will be conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures of the Federal Acquisition Regulation, using NAICS code 611710. The EPA has determined that HACU is uniquely qualified to fulfill the government's needs due to its exclusive role as the host of the conference, which serves as a platform to promote partnerships between HACU-member institutions, private and public sector organizations, and the EPA. The conference also focuses on supporting Hispanic students through educational and career opportunities while fostering Hispanic participation in scholarships, fellowships, and internships. As part of the sponsorship, the EPA will receive several tangible benefits, including recognition as a premier conference sponsor with a speaking opportunity, two exhibit booth spaces with priority placement, a full-page advertisement in the conference program, and eight full conference registrations. No formal solicitation or request for quotes will be issued, reinforcing the sole source nature of this award. However, other firms believing they can meet the requirements may submit corporate capabilities for consideration by the specified deadline. The final determination regarding competition will rest solely with the government.
