Western Area Power Administration (WAPA), Desert Southwest Region (DSW) intends to award a sole source purchase order to DMC Power, Inc. of Carson, CA for specific power units, dies, and assemblies for delivery to Phoenix, Arizona. The items are for use in WAPA substation. The DMC power units, dies and assemblies are currently in use for crimping wire and bus work by line crews and electricians throughout DSW. This system is mandatory for all new Construction, as per DSW Standards, and only genuine brand name DMC Power manufactured parts will be suitable. WAPA has determined that using off-market or parts from another manufacturer may place personnel in danger, and may jeopardize the safe and effective functioning of DMC Power system. The total award value at is estimated to be $89,000. Justification is on file at DSW Phoenix. Pursuant to Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 13.106-1(b), Contracting Officer may solicit from one source when circumstances deem only one source available. This notice of intent is not a request for proposal. Interested parties that believe they have capabilities to fulfill the requirements must furnish information about their capabilities to the Contracting Officer. All information shall be furnished at no cost or obligation to the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
