The U.S. Navy’s Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane is soliciting Thermistor Connectors through a sole-source contract action under FAR 13.106-1, limiting participation to Teledyne Instruments, Inc., as the only qualified source capable of meeting the technical requirements necessary for timely and accurate testing. The decision to proceed without competition is based on Teledyne’s exclusive qualification and existing capability to produce these critical components. While other responsible sources may submit capability statements, the Government retains full discretion to determine whether a competitive procurement is warranted, and such submissions will be evaluated solely for that purpose. Participation requires mandatory registration in the System for Award Management (SAM) and the Joint Certification Program (JCP) to access controlled technical attachments. The solicitation follows FAR Part 13 procedures and is exempt from full synopsis requirements under FAR 5.202(a)(13), with the official solicitation number N00164-26-Q-0266. Interested vendors must monitor sam.gov for any pre-closing amendments, and only those who submit quotes by the deadline will receive post-deadline revisions. Offers must be electronically submitted to Sandra Gunderman at sandra.e.gunderman.civ@us.navy.mil no later than August 3, 2026, at 1:00 PM Eastern Time. The contract is not set aside for small businesses or other categories, and performance will occur at Crane, Indiana.
