Solicitation Number: Notice Type: Special Notice Synopsis: Added: Sep 11, 2013 11:00 am Contractor: Vaisala, Inc. The Government hereby issues its notice of intent to sole source to Vaisala Inc. for the purchase of Runway Ice Detection Systems (RIDS). It was determined that the equipment and service provided is the only fit based on the current RIDS installed by Vaisala, Inc. It is also determined that Vaisala is the only source that can provide the requested service without substantial duplication of cost and delays to the Government. This Notice of Intent is not a request for Expressions of Interest (EOIs), proposals or quotations. No solicitation document exists. No contract award will be made on the basis of EOIs, proposals or quotations received in response to this notice. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement, and should furnish detailed data concerning their capabilities to provide the services sought including pricing data and technical data sufficient enough to determine that a comparable source to the Government is available. The Government will be the sole determiner regarding an offeror's ability to meet all requirements. The Government will consider all EOIs received prior to 7 days after date of publication of this synopsis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
