***NOTICE OF SOLE SOURCE REQUIREMENT*** The required software is necessary to allow for consistency and commonality among NSWCCD Code 7500 engineering design. Code 7500 currently maintains extensive part libraries designed using Solidworks's proprietary formats, which support the Division's underwater electromagnetic model and instrumentation design. Additionally, technical models are received from program sponsors and industry partners generated by, or are processed using, Solidworks's proprietary systems. Due to the existing libraries and use of this software across the division, the effort necessary to utilize different software would be cost prohibitive and would impact the fleet support operations & program schedules. As such, this requirement is issued as a sole source to software manufacturer, Dassault Systems Solidworks Corporation; however, it may be competed among distributors.
