Sonora High School Math & Science Classroom Building Modernization and Field Improvements Project

The project involves the modernization of the northern half of the Math and Science Classroom Building at Sonora High School, encompassing both interior and exterior renovations to upgrade facility conditions and functionality. Concurrently, extensive improvements are planned for the school’s track and field facilities, including the demolition of outdated infrastructure and the construction of new amenities such as a 2,615-square-foot restroom building, a synthetic track surface, a synthetic turf field, permanent bleachers with expanded seating, field lighting, and a scoreboard. The existing animal grazing area will be repurposed into an auxiliary athletic field, complemented by new walkways, landscaping, a bioretention area for stormwater management, fencing, and enhanced irrigation systems. Field lighting will enable evening practices from 3:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. for eligible sports and activities, without increasing the number of events, participants, spectators, or extended school hours. All work is to be performed at the school’s location in La Habra, California, with the Fullerton Joint Union High School District overseeing the project through its Senior Director of Facilities, M&O and Transportation, Vince Madsen.
