The United States Coast Guard Engineering Logistics Center is conducting a market survey to identify qualified sources capable of supplying specific Caterpillar marine engine parts for the 225-foot USCG Cutter class. The parts sought include a range of components such as rod bearings, pistons, connecting rods, dampers, various O-rings, gaskets, cylinder liners, thrust plates, main bearings, washers, bolts, adapters, and retainer parts, each specified by part number. The government anticipates awarding a sole source firm-fixed-price contract primarily to Caterpillar Inc. or its authorized distributors, considering they are believed to be the exclusive providers able to certify the genuine OEM quality of the parts. Delivery terms require FOB destination to the Coast Guard’s Engineering Logistics Center in Baltimore, Maryland. This is a non-solicitation notice intended to gather information on potential sources with the capability to provide certified genuine OEM parts. Interested parties must submit detailed engineering data and evidence of prior satisfactory manufacture and sales to the government to demonstrate their ability to furnish compliant parts. The government encourages prompt responses within five calendar days to ensure evaluation but clarifies that no contract will be awarded solely based on this notice, nor will respondents be compensated for submissions. The information provided will assist the Coast Guard in confirming the market capability and reinforcing its preference for original Caterpillar sources.
